The practice started over 50 years ago, as a family medicine/internal medicine practice. It has grown and evolved consistently alongside the needs of our patients.
Seven days a week, we provide walk-in care for which no appointment is necessary. High-quality urgent care is therefore easily available immediately by the same providers who the patients know and trust. Many ailments ranging from non-complicated trauma, the evaluation of broken bones, sprains, suturing of lacerations etc. are competently performed. Respiratory infections and evaluations of all disorders related to the entire human body are done. If these can be treated immediately, they are. If assistance is required from specialists or tertiary care institutions, this can be immediately arranged by our providers. Patients can choose any specialist or tertiary institution they wish.
Many HMOs require that patients choose a primary care provider. All of our Physicians are available as primary care providers. In this capacity we will provide and coordinate all the health care needs of our patients. Our Physicians focus mainly on Adult Health Care; however some of our urgent care providers see children. All of our providers are board certified and highly competent.
Specialty Care in Cardiology is provided by a full-time board-certified specialist in this discipline.
Cardiology covers all Cardiovascular diseases and spans both prevention and treatment. On site is available not only consultations with our board certified Fellow of the American College Cardiology, but also the whole range of necessary cardiovascular testing and monitoring. These include echocardiography, stress testing, holter monitoring, loop recordings, event recordings, electrocardiography, etc. Echocardiography is a study of the structure and function of the heart and its’ valves. Stress Echocardiography provides invaluable, non-invasive information as to the presence and severity of coronary artery disease. Cardiac arrythmias are abnormalities of the electrical and conduction system of the heart. Invaluable information is obtained with holter, loop and event recorders. Permanent pacemakers require long-term follow up, which we provide. The definitive diagnosis of coronary artery disease is via Coronary Angiography or Cardiac Catherization, which we perform at the outstanding Cardiac Catherization Laboratories at Saint Francis Hospital.
Expertise in managing multiple drug combinations is best done with the help of a clinical pharmacologist, and we are fortunate to have Clinical Pharmacology skills available full time in our practice.
We believe in continuity of care and we provide this both in the office the hospital and in convalescent homes.
